Last Thursday I was asked to vote on the majority party's latest budget; a massive document we were given less than 3 hours to review. The proposal does not stray far from the massive tax increases and vague spending cuts offered by the Democrats in March. I am proud to say I voted against the bill.
Please click below to watch my comments given on the floor of the Senate during the debate.
Also, in case you missed it, you have another chance to catch an interactive budget forum in New Fairfield I had the honor of hosting with State Representative Mary Ann Carson (R-New Fairfield) and State Representative Janice Giegler (R-Danbury) earlier this legislative session.
At the forum, folks had the chance to speak directly with us and offer their questions, concerns and comments on the state’s current fiscal crisis. The forum will replay on Tuesday June 30th at 9:00 p.m. on CTV-21.
I also encourage you to visit our website: www.ctbudgetfacts.com. The site is an interactive and user-friendly resource put together by the Senate Republicans which explains the budget process and gives you a more in-depth look at the various proposals before the legislature.
