Debate on Bringing Back Tolls

March 24, 2009

Don't Bring Tolls Back to Connecticut’s Highways.

Dear Neighbor,

On Thursday night, I’m participating in a bipartisan, open forum discussion on what has long been a very touchy subject in our state: bringing tolls back to Connecticut’s highways. There has been much debate on this issue for many years. I, however, will continue to oppose tolls in Connecticut as this will dramatically and negatively impact western Danbury, New Fairfield and Sherman by increasing traffic on secondary roads.

I hope you can take part in this educational forum and I look forward to seeing you there.

The forum is being held in the Grand Ballroom of the Campus Center at Western Connecticut State University’s Westside Campus. That’s on University Boulevard in Danbury. It starts at 6 p.m.

If you are unable to attend Thursday’s forum, I encourage you to contact the chairs of the Transportation Committee to voice your concerns and ask your questions.

The chairs are:
State Senator Don DeFronzo
6th District, New Britain, Berlin and Farmington

State Representative Tony Guerrera
29th District, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield

As always, please feel free to contact me on this or any issue regarding state government. I can be reached toll free at 1.800.842.1421 or via email at Michael.McLachlan@cga.ct.gov

Very Best,
